In the past three days, the GlobaLID Core team successfully hosted many experts working with lead isotope data in archaeology to discuss the future of lead isotope data and to gather important input for further work on GlobaLID. Beside an overall big encouragement to continue work, the major outcomes of the workshop are the suggestions
- To establish Regional Editors, i.e., experts for certain regions that help the Core Team with data collection and review and bring in their expertise on the local geology and archaeology
- To collaborate with GFZ Data Services instead of creating an own repository infrastructure. It was suggested that GlobaLID supervises the content and edits the data publication and that GFZ Data Services will take care of the actual publication via their infrastructure, including the minting of DOIs and archiving.
